With Term 3 underway, many students may soon be thinking about subject selection for next year or considering options such as higher education, apprenticeships and vocational education and training (VET). Below are some of many myfuture resources that can help them explore options and pathways.

There's also a range of VET resources on the Australian Government's My Skills website that can be used in the classroom or shared with students electronically.

Upcoming open days

Open days may look a little different this year due to COVID-19. Many universities, TAFEs and colleges will hold virtual open days, where students can go online to find out about courses and programs, explore campus facilities through virtual tours and chat live with current students about their experience.

Whether virtual or on-campus, open days can help students make informed decisions about their future study options. Encourage your students to research specific details and dates for the institutions that interest them and consider taking part. These resources on myfuture can help them prepare:

A message from the NSW Department of Education

The Senior Pathways team is seeking secondary teachers from all KLAs who have an entrepreneurial mindset to join the entrepreneurial learning teachers' writing group. You'll have a sound knowledge of your curriculum area and a willingness to collaboratively create a sustainable resource by developing lesson plans and student worksheets that link and complement the Year 7-12 NSW curriculum. Whether you're interested in entrepreneurship or have taught entrepreneurial learning, the team wants to hear from you.

Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) - Work experience opportunities

Do you know students who have shown interest or talent in cyber security, mathematics, computing or engineering? ASD is seeking applicants from across Australia for its upcoming Work Experience programs at the Australian Cyber Security Centre in Canberra.

Charles Sturt University - Early offer program

The Charles Sturt Advantage program helped over 700 students secure early offers to study at Charles Sturt in 2020. Now Year 12 students can apply via this program for 2021. They could receive a conditional offer before exams and an adjustment to the ATAR they'll need to achieve.
